Environment & Sustainability

Ensuring renewable and sustainable resources.

To reinforce our position as a leader rather than a follower, we, along with our suppliers, are striving to achieve the lowest possible environmental impact in all areas of our businesses – we want to Make Wood Work by getting the highest possible yield from our input materials.

We apply the cascade use of wood by first prioritizing post-consumer recycled timber, then using sawmill residues and co-products to produce technically advanced, engineered products.

Only when timber is not suitable to be used as a raw material for our products is it used as a fuel for energy production on our site, offering a much more sustainable alternative to fossil fuels.

We constantly monitor our use of water and energy to identify opportunities to reduce consumption.

Investing in a more sustainable future.

To accelerate our progress toward Net Zero emissions targets, we are continuously investing in new, more efficient equipment and machinery.

We have planned a number of large scale CapEx projects over the coming years with significant sustainability benefits.

This includes infrastructure upgrades which will enable the further decarbonisation of our operations and the local economy to implement further low-carbon technologies.

Sustainable forestry to lower environmental impact.

The wood-based panels we make and supply are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® License code: FSC-C018728).

This gives the certified assurance that our products are made of recycled materials well-managed FSC® certified forests, and other controlled sources.
